Why did my link fail to parse?
The most common reason is a missing protocol. Add http:// or https:// and try again, for example write www.example.com as https://www.example.com.
Will removing tracking parameters stop the link from opening properly?
No. Parameters like the utm family, gclid and fbclid are only used to track sources and have nothing to do with page content. But if a site uses custom parameters for authentication or business logic, check them yourself before using the cleaned result.
What do the percent signs in parameter values mean?
Characters such as spaces and non-English text must be escaped in a URL, for example a space is written as %20. The parameter table shows both the decoded value and the raw encoded value so you can compare them.
